If you’ve been missing teeth for a while, dental implants can allow you to eat all kinds of things you may have been missing out on. Now that summer is here, there are all kinds of foods that you’ll be able to enjoy to the fullest.

If you want to put your new tooth to the test, here are a few summer foods that dental implants can allow you to eat.

Dental Implants at a Barbecue

Summer barbecues are the highlight of the season, and there are all kinds of foods that you’ll be able to enjoy much more now that you have them. You’re probably used to sticking with chewy brisket, but barbecue chicken and sausage are all now much easier for you to eat.

You can even try out some chewier meats, like steak and pork chops. This is something that dental implants afford you that you may not be able to get from dentures.

Dental Implants and Sides

Speaking of barbecues, there are some sides that may not have been an option for you before. Corn on the cob is an excellent example.

Pulling corn off of the cob without teeth can seem almost impossible, but dental implants make it a breeze. However, you should be careful not to bite into the cob itself, as this can damage both your natural teeth and your dental implant.

Dental Implants and Popsicles

No dentist would necessarily recommend eating more sugar, but plenty of people feel like the summer season just isn’t complete without ice cream or popsicles. For that reason, it’s worth noting that you can eat these things much more easily with a dental implant than you could without one.

This is especially true if you’ve long been dealing with a seriously infected tooth that’s sensitive to cold temperatures. Without it, you’ll have a much better time eating cold foods that you may not have been able to enjoy before. Just be sure to brush your new teeth afterward!
